Each year, Valve’s Steam Sales always gets the gaming community excited, and it’s easy to see why. Thousands of games at bargain prices, what’s not to like? Now, Valve is introducing something new for this year’s Autumn sale: the Steam Awards.

“For the first time in human history, our Steam Community will decide the nominees for the prestigious Steam Awards,” Valve announced on the Steam website.

During the Autumn sale, the community nominated games for one of the eight awards Valve is going to hand out. But these aren’t just any awards, instead of the generic award names like “Best Game,” the guys from Valve thought of these fun ones:

The “Test of Time” Award

– For the game that makes you feel like it’s you’re first time playing no matter how many times you start over.

The “I’m not Crying, There’s Something In My Eye” Award

– For the game that pulled at your heartstrings the most.

The “Just 5 More Minutes” Award

– For the game that you just can’t stop playing, even if you got work in the morning (or in five minutes).

The ““Whoooaaaaaaa, dude!” Award

– For the game with the craziest, most convoluted plot twist imaginable. This is the ‘RKO out of nowhere’ of game plots

The “Villain Most In Need Of A Hug” Award

– For the game with the Villain that just needs a little bit more loving in his/her/its life.

The “Game Within A Game” Award

– For the game with the best mini-game; a gem hidden within another game.

The “I Thought This Game Was Cool Before It Won An Award” Award

– For the game that didn’t really have the best marketing but you bought it and loved it anyway. You tell all your friends about it, and they loved it too, and now everyone’s playing it.

The “Best Use Of A Farm Animal” Award

– For the game that made use of farm animals in the best possible way.

The “We Didn’t Think Of Everything” Award

– Well, Valve is still thinking up of a new name for this award.

Valve will be handing out the awards to the winners this December; we can’t wait to see who the winners are. No matter who wins these awards, make sure you have the best gaming laptop to play all those games you got from Steam!
