Tanks are durable and efficient frontline champions which play a vital role in a team. They are responsible for taking the lead on team fights. Aside from that, they can protect more fragile team fights by stunning or by pushing around dangerous foes.
Here are six of the perfect tank champions to use in Summoner’s Rift in League of Legends:
Amumu
Amumu is the Sad Mummy from ancient Shurima. Cursed by an ancient spell, he is bound to be alone for the rest of his eternal life. As a tank mage, he can be highly dependent on his teammates during the early game. So don’t be afraid to try laning with your friends for maximum effectiveness. Thanks to his magic damage, he can be very effective against other tanks.
Tryndamere
Tryndamere is the Barbarian King of the Freljord. Using rage as his weapon, he cuts his way through anyone who stands between him and his retribution. As a fighter and slayer in the team, Tryndamere uses his Bloodlust to heal himself. His last skill, Undying Retribution, when activated at the right minute can change the tide of any battle.
Braum
Braum is the known wielder of the Enchanted Door Shield. Blessed with massive muscles and a bigger heart, Braum is one of the beloved heroes of Freljord. He is a tanky defender whose skill kit allows him to deflect both the enemy attention and damage away from his teammate. He works well in shielding his allies and stunning foes with the use of his Concussive Blows.
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank also was known as the Great Steam Golem is a near-indestructible machine who sought to protect others using his strength and durability. This utility-based champion is usually played as a bot lane support due to his skill kit. Aside from that, he can be a very effective tank in team fights because his damage is noticeably higher compared to most supports in the Summoner’s Rift.
Alistar
Alistar the Minotaur is the mightiest warrior of the Minotaur tribe from the Great Barrier. Although very disruptive, he is one tough champion to deal with. One of his important skills is the Triumphant Roar which is a passive self-targeted heal that heals Alistair and any nearby allied champions. He also has a powerful point-blank AoE knock up a skill that can disable an entire enemy team if positioned correctly.
Darius
Darius is Noxian’s most feared and battle-hardened warrior who had to fight to keep himself and his younger brother, Draven, alive. He believes that a united Noxus can control the world. His skill, Decimate, is a powerful harassment ability which allows Darius to strike an enemy from the maximum range for the greatest effect.
